Unlearning Death
Embodied workshops on grief, care, and difficult conversations
Death touches every life, yet most of us are given very little support for how to talk about it, prepare for it, or be with it.
Unlearning Death offers workshops that make space for the conversations we often avoid—through presence, reflection, embodiment, and practical tools that help people meet grief, caregiving, and mortality with more honesty and humanity.
This work is not about having perfect answers. It is about becoming more willing to stay present.
Whether you are a healthcare worker, caregiver, artist, educator, community leader, or simply a human being trying to live with more courage, these workshops are designed to help you build capacity for what is real.
What is Unlearning Death?
Unlearning Death is an educational and experiential workshop offering focused on grief, end-of-life realities, caregiving, and difficult conversations.
We live in a culture that often treats death as failure, grief as something to rush through, and discomfort as something to avoid. Unlearning Death invites a different approach.
Through guided discussion, embodied exercises, reflection, and community-centered learning, these workshops help participants:
build comfort with conversations around death and dying
better support grieving people without trying to fix them
explore the emotional realities of caregiving and burnout
reconnect to the body as a source of information and resilience
develop more honest, grounded communication in high-stress situations
This is not cold, clinical education. It is warm, human, and deeply rooted in the reality that death and grief belong to all of us.
Who This Is For
Unlearning Death is for:
healthcare professionals
deathcare workers
caregivers and care partners
therapists and helping professionals
educators and facilitators
artists and community leaders
organizations wanting to support staff through grief, burnout, and difficult conversations
individuals seeking a more honest relationship with death, loss, and care
Why We’re Different
Human First, Not Clinical
We center real human experience over sterile language, creating space for honesty, emotion, and nuance in conversations that are often overly medicalized.
Embodied, Not Just Educational
Our workshops go beyond information. Participants engage through reflection, sensation, and interaction so the learning is felt, not just understood.
Bridging Worlds That Don’t Usually Meet
We integrate end-of-life care, body-based practices, and creative expression—offering a multidimensional approach that speaks to both professionals and everyday humans.
Connection Over Performance
This is not about saying the “right” thing. We focus on presence, listening, and relational skills that allow people to show up authentically in difficult moments.
