Clown Mother of DFW

DFW & Beyond Clown Workshops and Performances

Stephanie Bell is known as the Clown Mother of DFW—a Dallas-based clown performer, teacher, and community builder dedicated to creating spaces where people can explore play, vulnerability, and authentic expression through clown.

With a background in performance, education, and trauma-informed bodywork, Stephanie brings a rare depth to her work. She is the creator of Tepani’s Heartwork, a clown methodology that centers emotional honesty, audience trust, and embodied presence over performance perfection or forced humor.

As her clown persona, Tepani, Stephanie leads with curiosity, permission, and care. Her work invites people to step outside of rigid expectations and reconnect with themselves in a way that feels real, relational, and alive.

The title Clown Mother is not just a persona—it reflects her role in cultivating a growing clown community across Dallas–Fort Worth. Through workshops, performances, and collaborative projects, she mentors emerging clowns, supports artists in developing their voice, and creates containers where people feel safe to take creative and emotional risks.

Her teaching is known for being both deeply supportive and highly specific. Rather than relying on shame or humiliation-based training, Stephanie offers clear structure, direct feedback, and a commitment to maintaining a space where performers and audiences alike feel respected and included.

Stephanie’s work lives at the intersection of clown, grief, and human connection. She collaborates with artists, educators, and end-of-life practitioners to bring this work into theaters, community spaces, and interdisciplinary settings throughout DFW.

Whether you are an experienced performer or someone who has never stepped on stage, Stephanie’s work as the Clown Mother of DFW offers an invitation: to be seen, to take risks, and to discover what becomes possible when you stop trying to get it “right.”
